Bryn Hafod

Bryn Hafod is the former Vicarage of Eglwys Newydd, the estate church of Hafod. It was built at the beginning of the twentieth century and the house and gardens are a fine example of the Arts and Crafts style. The garden - currently under restoration - contains rhododendrons, azaleas, tulip trees, buddleia and bamboo as well as heathers. Deciduous woodland includes fine chestnuts, silver birch, rowan, hazel and willow. A fast flowing stream, Nant Crafanglach, adjoins the property which is set in one and a half acres. Red kites frequently circle overhead, and nuthatches and great spotted woodpeckers as well as chaffinches, blackbirds and song thrushes regularly feed in the garden. In the summer months, house martins nest beneath the eves. There are unbroken views of the surrounding countryside from the house, with Domen Filwyn prominent to the south. The property adjoins the Pwllpeiran Trail, a 7km permissive trail that adjoins the Myherin Forest section of the Cambrian Way Long Distance Path. Cycling routes close to the property.
